Stadiums and sports venues

These are the sports stadiums and venues that I have visited during my travels, in some I have enjoyed parties and others I have simply seen from the outside.

Abu Dhabi


Sheikh Zayed stadium


Headquarters of the UAE team with capacity for 50,000 spectators.

He has hosted the Club World Cup in 2009, 2010 and 2017 as the main events.

Yas Marina circuit

The distance is 5.5 km, which means that to walk around between stops for photos and enjoy it takes less than 2 hours. 

The Yas Marina circuit can be visited free of charge from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and allows access to it either by bicycle or on foot, it is a truly unique experience. It requires a previous registration that can be done from 17:30 at the entrance to the circuit and the rental of bicycles is also free.

Yokohama International Stadium


Although Tokyo will open its new stadium for the 2020 Olympic Games, the most important stadium in Japan is Yokohama, which has hosted the finals of the 2001 Confederations Cup and the 2002 World Cup and several editions of the Intercontinental and World Cup of Clubs. 

New York


Yankee Stadium


The New York Yankees Stadium of the MLB, located in the Bronx, is also home to the New York City FC.

Inaugurated in 2009 instead of the old stadium with the same name, it is the second most expensive stadium built in the world.

Madison Square Garden


Stadium of the New York Knicks of the NBA and possibly the most famous basketball pavilion in the world.

You can buy tickets from cheap prices to exorbitant prices.

If you visit the city during the season, watch a NBA match it is a must.

Las Vegas


T-Mobile Arena


Multipurpose pavilion in the city of Las Vegas that is the headquarters of the Vegas Golden Knights of the NHL.

It also hosts numerous concerts and fights of the UFC.

Toronto


Air Canada Centre


It is the pavilion where the Toronto Raptors of the NBA and the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL play their games.

Rogers Centre


It is the stadium where the Blue Jays play its matches, the baseball team champions of the world series in 1992 and 1993. 

Montreal


Olympic Stadium


Stadium in which was disputed the Olympic Games of 1976. 

London


Emirates Stadium


Stadium where Arsenal FC plays, which opened in 2006, when Arsenal left the old Highbury stadium

Stamford Bridge


Chelsea FC stadium, where different FA Cup finals have been played

Lisbon


Estadio da Luz


Inaugurated in 2003 for the Eurocup 2004, which was the stadium where the final was played. It was also the venue for the 2014 Champions League final.

It is the stadium where SL Benfica plays its games.

Oslo


Ullevaal stadium


It is the most important stadium in Norway and where the national team plays its matches

Holmenkollen National Ski Arena


The most famous ski jump in the country, it has hosted the Nordic ski world championship several times and hosted the 1952 Winter Olympics.

With 60 meters of height and almost 100 of length this platform impresses.

It is located on the outskirts of Oslo about 25 minutes from the city center by car.

Viking stadium


Stadium where Viking Stavanger plays its matches.

Kristiansand


Sør Arena


It is the stadium where the IK Start Kristiansand plays its matches.

Cardiff


Millenium Stadium


It is the headquarters of Wales national teams of rugby and football.

It has hosted Six Nations matches, the Rugby World Cups of 1999, 2007 and 2015, the final of the 2017 Champions League and was one of the venues of the football competition at the 2012 London Olympics.

Berlin


Olympiastadion


Stadium that hosted the 1936 Olympic Games and phases of the World Cups of 1974 and 2006.

Today is the stadium where Herta Berlin plays its matches.

Madrid


Santiago Bernabeu Stadium


Stadium where Real Madrid C.F. plays its games.

It has hosted matches in the 1964 European Championship, the 1982 World Cup and four European Cup finals.

Its museum is the third most visited in Madrid with more than one million visitors. You can visit for € 25, the price is rewarded by seeing inside the trophies of the most successful club in the world.

Metropolitano Stadium


Stadium inaugurated in 2017 in which Atlético de Madrid plays its matches.

Built to improve the previous Vicente Calderón Stadium that still stands today although it will end up being demolished.

Vicente Calderon Stadium


Old stadium where Atlético de Madrid played its game.

It was one of the stadiums of the 1982 World Cup and host of the Copa del Rey final 14 times.

La Caja Mágica


This venue is the stage where the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and the WTA Premier Mandatory tennis are held every year.

Barcelona


Camp Nou


Stadium where FC Barcelona plays its matches.

It has hosted matches of the European Championship of 1964, the 1982 World Cup and the 1992 Olympic Games.

Montjuic Stadium


Old stadium where he played his games RCD Espanyol.

It emphasizes its exterior that looks nothing like a football field and is more typical of a monument in the city.

It was the stadium of the Olympic Games of Barcelona 1992.

Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium

Stadium where Córdoba CF plays its matches.

It was built in 1993 a few meters from the old stadium of the same name.

Granada


Los Carmenes Stadium


Stadium where Granada CF plays its games.

Its name is due to the typical construction of Granada known as Carmen.

Basel


St Jakob Park


Field in which FC Basel plays its matches.

It hosted matches of the 1954 World Cup, the 2008 European Championship and the 2015-16 UEFA Europa League Final.

Milan


San Siro/Giuseppe Meazza

It is the stadium where AC Milan and Inter Milan play their matches.

In this stadium, there have been matches of the 1934 and 1990 World Cup, of the European Championship of 1980, four Champions League finals and four of the Europa League.

Warsaw


National Stadium of Warsaw

National Stadium of Poland, located in Warsaw, was inaugurated in 2012 on the occasion of the European Championship that same year.

Main headquarters of the Polish national team, it hosted the 2015 Europa League final in 2015. Very nice stadium both outside and inside and highly recommended to visit it.

Manchester


Old Trafford


The Theater of dreams is the stadium of Manchester United FC.

It has hosted matches of the 1966 FIFA World Cup, the 1966 European Championship, the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the 2003 Champions League final and the 2012 Olympic Games football matches.

Edinburgh


Murrayfield


Murrayfield is the home of the Scottish rugby team and one of the rugby cathedrals.

In him the Rugby Worlds of the years 1991, 1999 and 2007 have been disputed.

Limerick


Thomond Park

Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex


With a capacity of 70,000 spectators, it is the second largest stadium in Eastern Europe behind the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, and is classified as an elite stadium by UEFA.

It hosted the final of Euro 2012 and the final of the Champions League in 2018.
